The trick is not to put the baby on very tight clothes, let them wear clothes with stretchy fabric and the biggest tick of all is to, use powder, sprinkle it in there so baby will be covered all over everywhere properly, you don't want to miss places because that when the nappy rash start, and the thing about powder it works very well with diapers than Vaseline and bum cream and well my kids didn't feel comfortable with Vaseline and it really just destroys the diaper, they just open up on the side and all of the things start falling off without the diaper being full, with a newborn it different because they don't move around everywhere, but when the baby starts moving around the best bum protector is powder, you don't have to worry about nappy rash and the diaper stay for longer.
Let the baby be comfortable with loose clothes not too tight, you want him to move his legs, his arms and not be limited because there is no space for him to move around, I change the diaper but his still crying, try changing the outfit as well and see if works, unless you going out with him and want him to wear the outfit with a different kind of fabric then do so but when the baby is home use those stretchy outfits and let baby fill up the diaper while playing without feeling uncomfortable, they eat a lot and drink a lot.
If the baby does a number 2 change the diaper instantly don't wait, even if you just changed him to avoid nappy rash, believe me, you don't want to deal with that if it happens and you found out late that baby just did a number 2, just give him a wash, try by all means to stay out of nappy rash, it not a fun experience, just make sure baby bum is clean, by keeping on checking and staying on top of it and that baby powder will help you out a lot.
NO NAPPY RASH, A HAPPY BABY!!
